Application Advice
Getting started is easy. Simply log in to the online application, enter your email address, create a password, provide some basic personal information – and you’re well on your way to making your application.
The first part of the application asks you for basic personal information, and to answer questions about your educational history. We don’t assess or award marks for your educational history, but the information helps us allocate successful candidates to roles where they can make the best use of their knowledge and experience.
We have roles available in London and Darlington. Please choose which location you wish to apply for and apply for that one only. We cannot accept more than one application during each season. Consider your choice carefully, as you cannot swap locations after you apply.
Successful candidates will start work in September 2025.
We will be holding two workshops during the application period to provide guidance on the application and selection process – this will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams and are open to all applicants;

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Whilst candidates can use AI tools to prepare for the process of the application, such as gathering information about the scheme to understand the process and utilising it for feedback on practice questions, candidates must not use it during the assessment process.
It is crucial that you do not use AI during the actual tests or assessments to ensure a fair competition. This helps maintain the process and it is important to note that the values of HM Treasury and the Civil Service include openness and integrity.
It is essential that the responses you provide during the selection process represent your own authentic abilities and thoughts, for us to determine if you are a good fit for a role, and for you to gain a better understanding of your strengths. Your application may be affected if any use of AI is suspected during the testing or assessment stages.
